Hey Sandra! Haven't caught up on here in sometime (holidays and I moved). Too bad about group summer camping trip, but I am open to camping anytime before June and after. I hope to do a lot of camping this coming summer (some of that in the form of backpacking trips of course). Let's plan a spring trip soon!

As of now, the group trip this summer is canceled. We will still get together as individual camping trips come up. :)

Sandra, I can see the mountains around Red Rock Canyon from my house, they are covered in snow.

I would say count me in, but I already have a prior commitment for these next couple weeks.

Just and FYI, loops 3 & 4 of North Pines won't be made available until they are sure the sites won't be under water in June, so if you're going to try for them on February 15th pay attention to the "letter notations" on the sites. "X" means they won't be available for sale on that date, "A" means they will.

Hi Sandra, if you're looking to camp in the valley, online reservations are a MUST. (I do this every year, sometimes twice a year.) By the time you get through to the operator most of the campsites are filled. You literally have to be hitting those keys at 7am, ESPECIALLY in the summer. Fall and spring are a bit more forgiving.

Congrats Talo!!!! How wonderful! Ok, neither you nor Russ can do early June -- so what do you want to do about the campout? Ideas?

I'm afraid first half of June will be impossible for me this year (normally that's ideal). I'm getting married in early June. I will be busy with friends and family from out-of-town. This sounds great too.

sorry Sandra but my daughter is graduating at that time. Can't make this one.

Are you looking to reserve in Yosemite Valley? Do you want to try to get in the same campground? Just an FYI, although it is difficult to get reservations in the valley during summer months, the smaller campgrounds go faster than the larger ones (Upper Pines being the largest, North Pines I believe the smallest). Also, don't try to call in for reservations, you won't have a chance. Online reservations are a must in Yosemite.
