I was looking thru my Sportsman Guide catalog today they had a few different hot shower devices. I always bring plenty of baby wipes for between showers. We "camped" a week in New Orleans for Mardi Gras one year and took hot showers at truck stops for $5 every other day.

I've done basically what Joan has done - only without the pulley, which is a great idea.

in my experience solar showers never really heat up enough to make a difference. I just fill it with really warm water heated over the fire and hoist it up in aour designated shower tree. I use a small pully system and a branch sturdy and high enough to lift it above my head. They are akward to lift and don't want to bend over to shower...works perfect!

Coleman.com , then gear, then hot water systems.

There are propane powered water heaters for camping, some of them have shower attachments. Check Coleman.com, REI.com, ETC.

Thnks for the info. Guess I can only hope for a cool shower, won't be the first time.

That's a tough one. Solar showers heat up with the sun, period. In my experience, they really don't heat up much, either. You might try putting very warm water (not boiling) in your solar shower and just use that.
If possible, lay the thing out in direct sun all day long before showering. Even then, it probably will just be warm. But in the woods, any shower is great.

Does anyone have any ideas or tricks up there sleeve for the outdoor solar shower thing. How do you get the water temp. to warm if your in the dense woods with no sun to warm it?

Just an FYI -- I found some video reviews of lots of different kinds of gear on YouTube. Each video compares different brands of one type of gear -- it's really worth a look if you are looking to buy something, even if it's just a flashlight or survival pack. It's at http://www.youtube.com/user/GearBuyersGuide and their website is at http://gear-reviews.net/
